Your guide
Hey, I'm Kat
I'm the founder of EmpathySites, a mission-driven website design business for therapists with a team of four, and I've spent eleven years coaching therapists on their marketing and business.
As a sexual abuse survivor who is healing with the help of therapists, it's fulfilling to be able to help therapists expand the ways they show up and help in the world.
Growing another income stream is a lot of work, and it makes sense if you're standing at the bottom of that mountain finding it difficult to start climbing. After running my own online businesses, I would love to help you design, launch, and market your next awesome thing.

Why work with me
All of you is welcome here
I'm mental health and wellness positive, which means all of you is welcome in our sessions, including how you feel.
I'm non-judgemental and rational, and I stay curious about the possibilities that may work for you. Most people would describe me as very calm and a good listener.
I'm not interested in changing who you are. I believe you are enough, and from that place we can work together to discover what's right for you in your business and in your life. My goal isn't to turn you into me, it's to help you build your business in a more joyful and intentional way.

Hannah got stuff done without stress
"I wanted some 1:1 attention for me as a business owner, I wanted to take some of my creative ideas and make them a reality and I wanted some help creating more ease in my business. Kat is a great listener! They hold space really well, which let me talk through my ideas and often answer my own questions intuitively with the help of their concise and excellent questions and reflections.
Kat sussed out my main objective quickly (to create more ease in my business), reflected this to me and then continually brought me back to that as a touchstone. They gave clear impactful suggestions but also managed to make things feel very spacious and low pressure.
I always felt inspired and empowered after sessions so I was able to get stuff done without feeling stressed. I also feel Kat walks their talk and so I was able to see them model and embody things I am practicing as a business owner. Thank you Kat!"

Dara went from overwhelmed to balanced
"I initially came to you feeling overwhelmed by all of the options available to me in my line of work, and was having difficulty making decisions as to what direction I should move in next.
After undergoing coaching with you I have much more confidence when it comes to making the best decisions not only for my business, but for my entire life.
I learned from you that, at least for me, it is of utmost importance that I maintain a balance between my personal and work life. Therefore, any business decisions must be put through my filter of "How will this impact all areas of my life? For how long, and to what extent? Am I okay with that?"
This has lessened my sense of needing to be ultra-productive, and I have become much better at setting healthy boundaries for myself when it comes to how I balance my personal and work life."

Common challenges
Problems we can work on together
"I want to create something but I don't know what"
You might be bored with your private practice, or feel that working under your license is too limiting. Or perhaps you've become aware of the income ceiling when there are only so many hours in the day.
Let's work out what's next. There are other ways you can show up in the world beyond private practice, ways that make an impact, bring fulfillment, and make money.
"I already have an idea but don't know how to make it happen"
You have an idea you're excited about, and maybe some clarity on the steps too. Build an audience, figure out what to offer, create content.
But building something new from the ground up feels intimidating. What's the actual first step? What matters now versus later? We can start with the foundations, because there is a method behind building a business and I can guide you through it.
"I built it and nobody came"
You made the thing. The group, the course, the workshop. Then you launched it and it didn't fill, or it filled once and never again. Building was the part you knew how to do, and filling it is the part nobody taught you.
We'll look at who it's really for, how they'd find out it exists, and what needs to be true before you launch the next one.
What working together looks like
Before we start
You'll complete a Discovery Worksheet covering your practice, your goals, and what you've already tried. I read it before we meet, so our first session starts with the work instead of the background.
Sessions
One hour on Zoom, every other week. The fortnightly spacing is deliberate, because it leaves you room to actually build between sessions instead of collecting more ideas.
After each session
Sessions are transcribed and you get detailed notes with your action steps, so you're never trying to remember what we decided.
Your library
We work from a shared folder, and I add resources from eleven years of coaching therapists as they become relevant to what you're building. Everything in it is yours to keep.
Accountability
I'll expect progress between sessions and I'll ask about it. Most people tell me that's the part that makes things happen.
